The lesson

AI is useful for drafting, analysis, and exploration, but it should not be the final authority for high-risk decisions.

Human review is mandatory for production code, electrical safety, legal text, medical advice, finance, security, and anything affecting customers.

A safe workflow marks AI output as proposed work until it is reviewed, tested, and accepted by a responsible person.

A junior paralegal marks AI-drafted case chronologies as proposed until a supervising lawyer reads and approves them.

A duty nurse keeps AI-written care summaries flagged as proposed until a registered nurse reviews them against the care record.

A licensed electrician treats AI-generated wiring checklists as drafts only, verifying each safety step against local standards before use.

A bank lending officer marks AI-drafted credit notes as proposed until a credit manager signs off.

A site engineer keeps AI-drafted method statements as proposals until a qualified engineer reviews them for structural safety.

A pharmacist treats AI-drafted counselling notes as proposed until the pharmacist checks them against the dispensing record.

A social worker flags AI-written case notes as proposed until a supervisor reviews them for accuracy and sensitivity.

An aircraft maintenance planner keeps AI inspection drafts as proposed until a licensed engineer approves the work card.

A school principal requires a teacher to review any AI-drafted parent letter before it is sent.

A security operations analyst treats AI threat findings as suggestions until a human confirms each one against live logs.

  3. Production code, safety, legal, medical, finance, security, and customer-impacting work — correct
  4. Never

Answer: Production code, safety, legal, medical, finance, security, and customer-impacting work

High-risk domains need responsible human approval.

Question 2: How should AI output be treated before review?
  1. As tested production code
  2. As proposed work — correct
  3. As guaranteed truth
  4. As a signed contract

Answer: As proposed work

AI output remains a proposal until checked.

Question 3: Why not let AI be final authority for high-risk work?
  1. It can be incomplete, wrong, or unsafe — correct
  2. It is always too slow
  3. It cannot write text
  4. It cannot read prompts

Answer: It can be incomplete, wrong, or unsafe

AI can assist but does not remove accountability.
